The Butts County Fall Festival, long a favorite annual event held on the downtown Jackson Square, will return this year on October 20th, 2018 from 10:00 AM until 4:00 PM, promising a renewed look and purpose under the leadership of the Butts County Chamber of Commerce and its new Executive Director, Catherine Jones.

According to Jones, the festival will feature “Arts and crafts, hand-made items, Georgia Made/Grown products, local food, antiques, furniture, jewelry, gardening/horticulture, area business promotions, entertainment and tourism information in a family-friendly atmosphere”.

For as long as anyone can remember, Butts County has usually had some type of fall festival, held in the month of October and for most of its history, it was held on the downtown square, although for some years it was also held at the county fairground. It stopped briefly for a few years and then came back as the Jackson Alive Festival 8 years ago. This year, the name will return to the Butts County Fall Festival and Chamber wants to bring back the enjoyment and fun of a full-blown Fall Festival and all that goes along with it.

Butts County Fall Festival Circa 1912

The downtown square has become well-known as the location featured in the Netflix TV show “Stranger Things” that premiered in 2016 and has shot three seasons in downtown Jackson now. A movie, “Burden”, was also filmed in downtown Jackson and around Butts County. Although the movie has not yet been picked up for release, it has generated a considerable amount of positive attention from the film industry. These and other local film productions have drawn tourists to the area and we certainly want to extend an invitation to visit our downtown at this year’s Fall Festival.

The Chamber of Commerce will be coordinating the rental of vendor spaces at the Festival to promote your business or organization. A vendor application package can be picked up at the Chamber Office located at 625 W. Third Street, Suite 6, Jackson and also at the City Hall of Jackson, Flovilla or Jenkinsburg. There is a September 7th deadline for filing applications.

For more information or to request space as a vendor, call the Butts County Chamber of Commerce at 770-775-4839.

Hope to see you all at the festival this year!
