One annual event that happens each year on the 4th of July, and which attracts thousands of people from Butts County and the surrounding region is the City of Jackson’s Annual fireworks show, which has grown into one of the largest in central Georgia. This year’s show, as always, was hosted at Daughtry Recreation Park and put on by the City of Jackson. The Fireworks Show has been thrilling families now for many years with a dynamic display of pyrotechnics to light up the sky.
This year, the park opened the gates at 5:00 PM and attendees were encouraged to bring a picnic dinner, drinks and snacks when they came (concessions were provided as well). Many arrived a few hours early to get a good spot near the Charlie Brown Track Field, which is the closest area to the display. This year’s show began precisely at 9:30 PM and lasted until about 10:00 PM.
Admission remained the usual $5.00 per vehicle (regardless of the number of people in the vehicle) and all proceeds will go towards the purchase of fireworks for next year’s show. Donations from various local merchants also have helped to ensure a big assortment of fireworks for all to enjoy.
We appreciate the wonderful show that Jackson put on for this year’s Independence Day Celebration and are already looking forward to next year’s show!
