For the second year in a row, the local group “Butts Mutts” held their annual benefit event that raises funds to help find forever homes for the homeless dogs of Butts County…”one tail at a time”. They do this by vetting, transporting, and facilitating adoptions of the dogs at Butts County Animal Shelter; providing low cost or free spay/neuter surgeries to low income residents of Butts County; and working to educate the community as a whole about responsible pet ownership.

According Butts Mutts board member Kim Freshwater, “We’ve even been known to help the occasional cat or pig in distress”.Butts Mutts relies entirely on donations to carry out their mission and the annual Fur Ball is their biggest fundraising event in the community. They are a 501C3 nonprofit organization, hold a Georgia Rescue License and have been an active partner with the Animal Shelter and other organizations that work each day to rescue homeless animals and find for them a new life.

The highly successful event was held just in time for Valentine’s Day celebrations and included delicious food, cocktails, live entertainment, silent auctions and more! A really BIG THANKS to everyone who helped make this a successful event!
